The Hidalgo County Republican Party is pleased to announce its nominee for Judge of the 93rd District Court, Mrs. Jennifer Morales.
Mrs. Morales is married with three children and is a 1996 graduate of Edinburg North High School. Mrs. Morales holds three university degrees: including a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.
In Mrs. Morales circle of friends, family, and co-workers, she and her husband are known to be Conservative voters and have been for more than a decade. She acknowledges the risks associated with publicly announcing that she is a Republican in a region that is heavily identified as Democratic. Mrs. Morales shared a powerful story of humble beginnings and stated that going door-to-door has a powerful effect on our community. She also stated, we are finally giving Hidalgo County voters a choice and that our uniqueness is what we all have to offer.
Morales (40) comes from a family of service, with members in the military. She has also served as a board member for Angels of Love and is a member of Baptist Temple. She believes that service is everything and that “nothing is in the bag,” we have to work hard for it. We are breaking ground for the generation after.
Morales practiced law in Hidalgo County since 2008. After running her own company (J. Morales Law Firm, PLLC) for five years. She has gained another five years’ experience in public service as an attorney with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). After hours, Morales practices immigration law part-time and is also an adjunct professor in UTRGV’s Continuing Education Department.
County Chair Peña-Garza enthused, “All I have ever wanted for Hidalgo County is for our community to have choices and the freedom for all voters to not be swayed or pressured. We, as voters need to decide for ourselves. Mrs. Morales brings a new light to the Republican Party in Hidalgo County that I believe many have been waiting for.”
